Fire Hot - Yep I said it, fire is hot which means when a candle is lit it has a chance to burn and you will see that most of the safety tips are based around that one aspect of fire. Yes, fire can be pretty, and gives off light, and can warm a home, but pretty sure we don't want the home to be set on fire.

Candle Safety Tips
- Never burn a candle near anything that can catch fire. Example - Drapes, Books, Carpet, Just to name a few things.
- Keep candles out of the reach of kids and pets. They may accidentally knock them over, this would be especially bad if it was lit.
- Cut candlewicks a small amount each time you decide to lit your candle. This will help stop uneven burning and dripping.
- Keep a burning candle within sight. Blow out candles when you will not be able to see them, this includes if your going to sleep.
- Burning candles should be at least three to three and a half inches apart from one another.
- Never pour water on a lit candle, this could cause wax to splash out and you could get burned.
- If using candles during a power outage. Do not use it to look for things in closet's or cupboards.
- Keep lit candles away from air currents like vents, drafts from open windows, fans. Doing this helps stop uneven burning and lowers the chance of something flammable from blowing into the flame.
- Never touch a lit candle or move the candle when it is lit or the wax is liquid.
